Skin Diseases and Skin DisordersSkin is known to be the largest organ in our body and the most sensitive one too. Skin diseases are prone to occur at a faster rate as it acts as the first line of defense against the foreign bodies like germs, dirt etc. Apart from all these it also gets adversely affected by the sun’s rays. There are a number of skin disorders which are prevalent these days and more are being introduced day by day. There are different causes of skin diseases such as exposure to sun, allergy and even genetics plays a major role. All these would lead to even physical discomfort and would break down the confidence that we build up. Several things are to be considered while protecting the skin from skin disorders. They include a long list, avoiding the direct contact of sun by using sunscreens as often as possible as it would lead to harshness and toughness of the skin. Always use soft water for hands and face. For smoothening the tender skin a quarter cup of almond meal or bran, borax, baking soda etc could be added to make the water soft so that your skin would remain the same ever long. The more common skin disease is acne which could be recognized on the skin surface. Acne results from clogging of dirt and oils so that it is visible outside as pimples. If it is left untreated it would result in scars which might make your face look even worser. Cure for acne is not yet understood, therefore several precautions is recommended to stop the outbreak. Another skin disease which is commonly seen is eczema which is also visible on the surface with inflammation, itching and rashes. The root cause of eczema is not known but the major root could be detected as the immune system. The treatments are not to blame as the result varies with individual. Yet another skin disorder which is commonly seen is Psoriasis that is symptomatic of the red patches of the skin which is covered by scales or even by silvery flakes which are thicker. Oral medications are usually prescribed for this disorder. Skin cancer is to be seen more commonly these days as the number is increasing with time. It is due to the repeated exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun. It is also been recognized as one of the most common cancer which is diagnosed. Treatment of skin diseases are yet to be developed as there is no cure for many of it as the same disease would reoccur after few days of stopping treatment. |
